HMD Motorsports is headed for the hills of Virginia to compete in the triple-header weekend in the Formula Regional Americas Championship Powered by Honda. Fresh off his pair of second place podium results, David Malukas will be aiming for the top step of the podium in his and HMD Motorsports first visit to the legendary facility.

After a successful run in the season-opening weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the team is returning to the series with rookie driver David Malukas – who is currently sitting second in the championship standings. With Malukas as the only HMD Motorsports entry this weekend, all attention will be given to providing the young talent with a race winning car. After earning two second place finishes in the first two rounds, Malukas is after his first win of the season. In the first triple-header weekend of the season, up to 75 points towards the championship are up for grabs.

“After a short break since Mid-Ohio and with a bit more testing under my belt, I’m excited to try and do another good showing with the HMD Motorsports team at VIR,” expressed Malukas. “I’m ready to get going again and see what we can do with the ultimate goal being to win!”

Starting off the weekend, Malukas and the team will participate in the series test day on Thursday where they will have over two and a half hours of track time before heading into the official practice sessions on Friday. Being new to the series and the track, the team will take advantage of this time to learn the track and work on setups in order to be a competitive force this weekend.

While the track is closed to spectators this weekend due to COVID-19 safety precautions, live streaming for all three races is available to view on and live timing can be found on the Race Monitor app. Links to all live streaming, timing & scoring can also be found on the FR Americas website at
