HMD Motorsports Heads to Mid-Ohio with Adjusted Ten-Driver Lineup

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, the INDY NXT by Firestone series gears up to celebrate the holiday weekend in Lexington, Ohio at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. With a weekend away from the racetrack, HMD Motorsports is ready to get back to work after two podium results from Caio Collet in a double-header weekend at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

In his return to the INDY NXT by Firestone series, Jagger Jones, will pilot the #33 entry in this weekend’s Grand Prix to replace Niels Koolen, who exits the series to pursue racing interests in Europe. Racing alongside Jones will be the team’s points leader, Caio Collet, who leads the Rookie of the Year chase, and is looking for his first win in the series. Myles Rowe currently sits fourth in the championship standings, will be joined by fellow teammate and series rookie Callum Hedge, and Reece Gold, who had a strong run at Laguna before contact forced him to retire.

Christian Brooks, who has two INDY NXT races under his belt, one which included the Jostens Biggest Mover of the Race award hopes to improve upon his two top-ten results at Laguna Seca. Brooks will pull double duty as he will also be racing in the USF Pro 2000 series over the course of the weekend. Christian Bogle achieved his best finish of the season on the West Coast, hopes to capitalize on his current momentum going into the holiday weekend. Josh Pierson, who also took home a top-ten at Laguna Seca, looks forward to repeating the accomplishment with teammates Nolan Allaer and Jonathan Brown looking to follow suit.

HMD Motorsports will hit the track on Friday afternoon for a single practice session leading into Saturday, which will start with another practice session followed by qualifying in the afternoon. The INDY NXT by Firestone Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio will roll off the grid Sunday morning at 11:15 AM (ET), just prior to the start of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Click here for the full weekend schedule. The race can be liv-streamed on Peacock TV or INDYCAR LIVE (globally).
